All schools have a continuing responsibility to proactively manage and improve pupil attendance. Attendance is the essential foundation to positive outcomes for all pupils and should therefore be seen as everyone’s responsibility in school to be involved in improving attendance.
The most effective schools consistently promote the benefits of good attendance at school, set high expectations for every pupil, communicate those expectations clearly and consistently to pupils and parents, systematically analyse their data to identify patterns to target their improvement efforts, and work effectively with the local authority and other local partners to overcome barriers to attendance.
The aim of our Attendance Management in Schools CPD course is to incorporate good practice that has been gain and to facilitate a professional connection with the educational establishments to provide guidance, training, and consultancy in best practice to improve pupil attendance.
The ‘Attendance Management in Schools’ CPD course aims to share effective systems, processes, resources, as well as how to tackle high absences, persistent absentees, and how to support others to implement key changes in their practices, to discuss and share challenges to drive improvement, making effective use of data, working with the local authority, and importantly ensuring all pupils are achieving to their potential reducing absences in schools.
‘Attendance Management in Schools’ is to promote a culture of excellent attendance, to be consistent in securing high levels of pupil attendance, identifying key challenges, and working together to remove those barriers with the parent/carer and pupil.
